Taking long bike rides is a relaxing activity. But one has to ensure that the bike they have chosen for the ride ticks all the right boxes.
If one has been on the hunt for such a bike then they should check out the KTM Duke 390.
Why?
Well, due to the following reasons –
- KTM updated the Duke 390. The latest iteration of the motorcycle is equipped with an all-LED headlamp unit. The centre console has a colour TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity.
- The bike has a single-cylinder, fuel-injected, BS6-compliant, liquid-cooled, rev-happy motor. Its cylinder has a total displacement of 373 CC. The engine is paired with a peak power mapping set for 42.9 BHP which unlocks at the ungodly 9,000 RPM! The peak torque mapping for the motor is set for 37 Nm. The peak torque is unlocked when the tachometer surpasses the 7,000 RPM mark! The power and torque figures are enough to label the bike as one of the best bikes for long rides!
- KTM also equipped the bike with a slipper clutch. A slipper clutch, unlike a regular clutch, allows aggressive downshifts without locking up the rear wheel.
- KTM also went ahead and paired the bike with a track-tuned 6-speed gearbox. The gear ratios have been precisely set to ensure linear power delivery from the engine to the rear wheel. The tack-tuned transmission is also advanced enough to work in tandem with KTM’s Quickshifter+ onboard technology!
- The bike also comes equipped with a 320mm front disc brake. The rear disc brake is a 230mm unit. Both the rear and the front brake callipers are from ByBre. KTM also offers the bike with dual-channel ABS as part of the standard package.
For more details, taking a test ride of the bike is strongly advised.
