The Pulsar 220 F was the semi-faired version of the critically acclaimed Pulsar 220. The bike had quite a few Unique Selling Points. This post will summarise some of them.
Here goes.
- The last known ex-showroom price for the bike as per the official Bajaj bike price list was Rs 1, 36,998.
- The engine that was used to power the bike was the same unit that was available in the Pulsar 220. These days, the same engine does duty on the Avenger Cruise 220. The engine of the Bajaj Pulsar 220 F has a single cylinder. It was fuel-injected and liquid cooled. The BS6-compliant engine also came equipped with Bajaj’s DTS-i and ExhausTEC technologies. The peak power and torque outputs of the motor are 21bhp and 19Nm respectively.
- The bike came with telescopic fork suspension at the front and had best-in-class suspension travel. The rear suspensions were two traditional gas-charged shock absorbers.
- The bike had a single-channel ABS and dual disc brake setup. The motorcycle also came with well-padded split seats.
- The 220 F entailed a muscular design and a menacing road presence.
- The overall handling of the bike was on par with the legendary handling capabilities of the Pulsar 150.
- The top speed of the bike was electronically limited by the OEM to 134 km/h.
- The bike came with rider-friendly ergonomics. The rider sat with a semi-aggressive stance thus making the bike ideal for city and long commutes.
The motorcycle has been discontinued by Bajaj to make room for new motorcycles. However, Pulsar maniacs still miss this legendary motorcycle to this day!
